Gujarat riots: Court convicts 32 in Naroda Patiya case

A trial court in Gujarat has convicted 32 people in the Naroda Patiya massacre case, in which 97 people were killed during the 2002 Gujarat riots. On February 28, 2002 during the bandh call given by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad , a rioting mob had attacked Naroda Patiya, killing 97 Muslims. The incident had taken place one day after the Godhra train burning incident on February 27, 2002.
