India to pitch for Security Council reforms at UN summit

The External Affairs Ministry has contended that the country has 'impeccable credentials' to prove it deserved to be a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. Ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash revealed in an interview onboard the Prime Minister's special aircraft while it was en route to New York for the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. During his visit, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to meet several international leaders to enhance bilateral ties as well as boost India's image on the global stage.
