Jairam hopeful of early passage of National Green Tribunal

India's Minister for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday expressed hopes that the Bill, which provides provisions for the establishment of the National Green Tribunal, would be passed by the Indian Parliament soon. The Indian government had proposed to set up a National Green Tribunal for speedy and effective disposal of cases relating to environmental issues. The National Green Tribunal Bill 2009 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
