Patnaik pleads for safe release of abducted Orissa IAS officer

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday has appealed to Maoists for safe release of abducted District Magistrate of Malkangiri, R V Krishna. He said that the he is monitoring the situation and evaluating all options. District magistrate of Rayagada, Bhanudas Jawle, who was previously posted in Malkangiri, said the region has security issues, however, he added that such incidents could not hinder the government from working in Maoist-affected area.
