Sudden rainfall took India's national capital by surprise as heavy downpour lashed several parts of the city on Saturday. New Delhi received a good 18.0 mm of rainfall, which in several parts of the city extended to almost an hour. Weather department officials said a low-pressure area that developed over the city was responsible for the rainfall. Many people on their way to work were drenched by the pre-winter showers and were seen taking shelter underneath bus stops and Metro stations.
