Sweet sellers around Bengal cash in on FIFA fever
India may not be participating in the FIFA World Cup 2010, but that hasn't stopped soccer fever in the country from touching new heights each day. In West Bengal, sweet sellers such as 'Ma Gandheshwari Sweets' have introduced novel sweetmeats inspired by the World Cup craze with sweets such as "Brazil Sandesh" and "Argentina Rasgulla," priced at Rs 5 each. Besides from naming their most famous sweetmeats after their favorite national teams, the city's sweet sellers are even selling sweets shaped in the form of footballs, national flags, and even the world cup trophy.
