Residents of Delhi are facing water shortages after Jat protesters in neighbouring Haryana damaged equipment that brings water from the Munak canal to New Delhi. The state government in the national capital has ordered for schools to be closed on Monday and water rationing to be introduced.Thousands of members of the lower-caste Jat agricultural community are demanding reservations both at the federal and state levels, including guaranteed government jobs or university spots.The week-long protest has killed at least 10 people and injured another 150 protestors.
