Iran has challenged Washington over the Strait of Hormuz as tensions escalate between Tehran and the Trump administration. An IRGC Navy official reportedly dared the U.S. to send a warship near Hormuz, warning that Iranian forces were monitoring naval activity across the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. Ali Mohammadi also warned that any renewed war could see Iranian attacks on U.S. vessels and destroyers, potentially extending toward American naval assets in the Indian Ocean. The warning came after the Trump administration rejected Iran’s proposal linked to reopening the Strait of Hormuz, while the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump expected U.S. bombing of Iran to resume after the November midterm elections.
