Azaan row: How Bengaluru cops are seizing mics from places of worship

A massive controversy is brewing over use of loudspeakers during Ramzan in Karnataka after the Hijab row and not allowing Muslim shopkeepers to open shops during festivals in the state. Bengaluru police has started seizing microphones from religious places citing court order on noise pollution. Though the police term it an awareness drive, the move comes in the backdrop of right-wing groups giving an ultimatum to the Basavaraj Bommai government on loudspeakers playing Azaan. Sri Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik has said that activists will play Hanuman Chalisa to counter Azaan if loudspeakers aren't removed. Watch this video for more details.
