'Kashmiri Pandits weren't the only targets': AS Dulat on ‘The Kashmir Files'

Former RAW chief A.S Dulat has called out the narrative peddled by the makers of controversial 'The Kashmir Files' movie. Dulat, a veteran Kashmir hand, echoed a section of politicians and experts who argue that the film has presented 'half truth'. The ex-RAW chief told Hindustan Times in an interview that while Kashmiri Pandits were indeed targeted by militants in Kashmir in the early period of militancy, but added that they were not the only targets. Dulat rebutted the claim that the insurgency in Kashmir began with the killings of Kashmiri Pandits and said that it was the Farooq Abdullah-led National Conference -- whose cadre was mostly Muslim -- which was first targeted by militants.
