The last 11 days have horrified the entire country - from the discovery of the brutalised body of a doctor, to alleged lapses by hospital authorities and police, and violence and vandalism at the hospital. Throughout all this, protests have continued in many parts of the country, led not just by doctors but people from all walks of life.
