2024 Lok Sabha Election updates: Bharatiya Janata Party released its second candidate list with 72 names on March 13. The names included several Union ministers like Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, and Anurag Thakur. The party also named at least 3 former Chief Ministers, as well as members of 'royal' families of Tripura and Mysuru. Meanwhile, a senior BJP leader issued a "50%" warning to Congress, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated her opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act by linking it to NRC, and saying that she does not want Assam-like detention centres in her state.
