Five terrorists gunned down in 2 overnight encounters in Kashmir; cop shot dead

Five militants including a top Jaish-e-Muhammad commander were killed in two different gunfights in Kashmir valley. According to police, the gunfights erupted last night in Pulwama and Budgam district. Four Jaish-e-Muhammad militants were gunned down in Pulwama, which included a local commander and a Pakistani insurgent, while a Lashkar militant was killed in Budgam. The killings came hour after a police head constable was shot dead by militants in Anantnag district. The IGP of Kashmir termed the killings of five militants a big success for security forces.
