Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai, its suburbs and parts of Maharashtra on Saturday. IMD issued a red alert for June 13 and 14, while residents have been advised to stay at home. Waterlogging was reported in Andheri, Sion east which disrupted traffic movement. According to IMD, Mumbai received 137 mm of rain till 5.30 pm on Friday. BMC has appealed to residents to stay away from the sea and coastal areas. Five teams of NDRF have been put on high alert in Mumbai in view of downpour. A total of 15 NDRF teams have been deployed in Maharashtra in view of heavy rain in many districts.
