Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is expected to finally make her poll debut as reports emerge that she could contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Raebareli – a traditional stronghold of Gandhi family. Priyanka’s brother Rahul Gandhi too appears set to contest from Uttar Pradesh as he is likely to fight to reclaim his Amethi seat from Smriti Irani who handed him a shock defeat in 2019. Suspended TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan was finally handed over to CBI after nearly two days of standoff between the central agency and the Bengal government.
