Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) concluded raids at businessman Piyush Jain's house in Kannauj. DGGI officials said they recovered more gold and cash of about ₹19 crore from his Kanaij home. Additional Director of DGGI Zakir Hussian said that it was the ‘biggest cash recovery’ as per higher officials. Jain was arrested on Sunday after recovery of unaccounted cash, gold & other raw materials. The businessman from Kanpur has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a Kanpur court. DGGI officials had seized ₹194.45 cr cash, 23 kg gold from Kanpur businessman's possession. GST officials said 600 kg of sandalwood oil having a market value of about 6 cr were also seized. Officials said Jain admitted that the cash recovered was from sale of goods without payment of GST. Watch the full video for more.
