Former US President Barack Obama has taken a swipe at Donald Trump over renovations and lavish gold decor at the White House. In a sharply worded speech, Obama joked that the president appeared more focused on home renovations than pressing national issues. He also mocked plans for a ballroom, changes to the Rose Garden and a helicopter pad on the South Lawn, delivering the memorable line that the White House looked like “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.” The remarks add another flashpoint to the political rivalry between the two presidents.
