Shoot-at-sight orders in Sri Lanka, 8 dead in Negombo clash | 5 updates

Weeks long protest against food and fuel shortages caused due to the economic crisis has culminated into deadly violence in Sri Lanka. On Tuesday, Sr Lankan defence ministry gave shoot-at-sight orders to the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy personnel. They have been asked to open fire on anyone looting public property or causing harm to others. 8 people have died and nearly 250 people have been injured in the violence in Colombo and other parts of the country.
