As the second anniversary of the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status draws near, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has apparently extended an olive branch to mainstream politicians, calling them for an all-party meeting on June 24. J&K leaders, who faced house arrest for many months following the August 5, 2019 move, have reiterated their demands like restoration of both special status and statehood. It remains to be seen what the Central government will put on the table.
