Spooked Trump meets Muslim leaders amid 'Arab military alliance' rumour after Israel bombs Qatar

President Donald Trump convened a high-stakes multilateral meeting with Muslim and Arab leaders on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, following Israel's bombing of Qatar and speculation over a potential 'Arab Military Alliance.' Trump declared his urgent intent to end the Gaza war, secure the release of hostages, and restore stability in the Middle East. Leaders from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan joined Trump to discuss an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid for Gaza. While the meeting underscored hopes for regional cooperation, Trump’s remarks also highlighted the complexity of ongoing negotiations and the dire status of hostages, against the backdrop of mounting casualties and regional tension.
