Countdown for coach selection begins

The final countdown to select Team India's next coach begins in Bangalore on Monday. A seven-member Coach Selection Committee of the Indian cricket board met on Sunday evening under the chairmanship of BCCI President Sharad Pawar in the city. Australian Dav Whatmore, who till recently was the coach of Bangladesh, is the leading candidate. If selected, he would become the third foreigner to take up the job after John Wright and Greg Chappell.
