National rafting championship in Ladakh

The fourth national white water rafting championship-2007 was held at Nimu village near the banks of River Indus. Eleven teams from across India participated in the national event and tried their rafting skills over the gushing waters of the mighty Indus. The rapids in the Indus are generally of I and II grades, but in some places the rapids touch the III to V grades.
