Yohan Blake on Indian athletes, Jamaica’s sprint domination

Jamaican athletics legend Yohan Blake spoke to Hindustan Times during his December 2019 visit to India and opened up on how he hopes his team's exploits will inspire the his country's next-gen athletes. Blake, who was in India for the Road Safety World Series T20 cricket tournament, said there is enough talent in India to make it to the world level. Blake is a two-time Olympic gold medal winning sprinter and a teammate of Usain Bolt, who holds the world record for fastest 100m in history with 9.58 seconds as well as the fastest 200m with 19.19 seconds. Blake also holds the record – with USA's Tyson Gay – for the joint second-fastest 100m (9.69 seconds). He is also the second-fastest in history in the 200m with 19.26 seconds.
