Trump, Putin hold first call since Witkoff-Kushner peace mission: Russia slams European ‘war’ myths?

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held a one-hour phone call focused on Ukraine and the recent Moscow–Kyiv visits by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Trump pressed for the war to end quickly, while Putin backed continued U.S. mediation and said a settlement could open major trade and economic opportunities between Washington and Moscow
