U.S.’ Defense Secretary Austin Lloyd made a surprise visit to the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier. Lloyd Austin met the crew of the aircraft carrier defending Israel amid the Gaza war. Austin thanked the crew for their role in preventing a larger conflict in the Middle East. Austin was in the region to press Israel to shift its Gaza onslaught into a limited campaign.
