Vikram Chandra on farmers standing firm, govt meet inconclusive, & more

Leaders of 36 farmers unions on Tuesday rejected govt's proposal to set up a committee to look into their grievances as talks with the 3 central ministers remained inconclusive.  The two sides will now meet on Thursday but going by reports an end to the deadlock may not come soon. Meanwhile Canadian PM Justin Trudeau's open solidarity with the protesting farmers triggered a diplomatic row with India saying the farm stir was an internal matter.
