A tiny one-tonne satellite could send the alarm bells ringing in Washington. Chinese scientists say the Beijing-3 satellite can quickly snap high-resolution pics of U.S. cities. The Chinese media has claimed that the satellite scanned 3,800 sqkm of the San Francisco Bay Area within 42 seconds. High-res pics from space is a tough task as control devices can induce vibrations that blur pics. Chinese researchers say the Beijing-3 satellite can rotate rapidly in orbit, without compromising image quality.
