The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh-headed Defence Acquisitions Council approved the Indian Air Force's proposal to buy 12 Su-30MKI fighter jets at a cost of ₹11,000 crore. The new and most modern Sukhois will be manufactured in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and will include more than 60% indigenous content, as per the requirement.
