The Israeli Defence Forces and Shin Bet launched a large-scale offensive in the West Bank's flashpoint city of Jenin. Israeli choppers dropped missiles at the Jenin camp, killing at least three Palestinians. The Israeli army launched operations on the ground shortly after the air strikes began. The IDF confirmed an "extensive counterterrorism effort in Jenin". Israel also said sites used by Palestinian factions to shelter terrorists and store weapons were targeted.
