Indian judoka Asmita Dey clinched the gold medal in the women's 48kg category, delivering an emotional victory that she dedicated to her late father, coach, state and the country.
Speaking after her triumph, Asmita said the medal held special significance as she battled personal loss following the death of her father in December 2025. She revealed that she had felt everything was over after losing him, but found the strength to continue, topping the national rankings during the Asian Games trials just two months later.
