The US began withdrawing soldiers and military equipment from Niger on June 7. More than 269 out of 946 US soldiers have left the country in a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft. The withdrawal came after the signing of an agreement between Washington and the Niamey military regime in May. Both nations set a September 15 deadline for the complete withdrawal of American soldiers.
