A Pakistani woman was sentenced to death on Wednesday over a 'blasphemous' Whatsapp status. Aneeqa Ateeq, 26, was arrested in May 2020 and charged with posting 'blasphemous material'. She had sent a blasphemous text message and caricatures of Prophet Muhammad via Whatsapp. The court said when a friend urged her to change it, she instead forwarded the material to him. Caricatures of Muhammad are forbidden by Islam. Blasphemy is a hugely sensitive issue in muslim-majority pakistan. Watch the full video for more.
