Sultry salsa reverberates in Rio; Streets filled with glittering dancers

Rio carnival is back after the hiatus of two years due to the Covid pandemic. The glittering, sequin-studded festival with an all-night samba parade began on Friday. The crowd is excited and jovial as the streets are filled with dancers, musicians and festivities. The Carnival is expected to bring some relief to Brazil's economy which is battered by the pandemic.
