US President Donald Trump said the United States will establish two major military bases in Greenland as part of a new security agreement with Denmark and Greenland. Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Trump described Greenland as strategically important for the US, Europe and NATO and said the expanded military presence would strengthen Arctic and North Atlantic security. The agreement signed by the US, Denmark and Greenland allows Washington to expand its military footprint while maintaining Danish sovereignty over the territory.
