Senate confirms John Kerry as US Secretary of State

US Senator John Kerry is all set to replace incumbent Hillary Clinton as the new US Secretary of State after the Senate confirmed his selection by a 94-3 vote. The five-term senator and the one time presidential candidate won broad support from Democrats and Republicans. Kerry will succeed Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. Friday is the last working day for the outgoing Secretary of State.
