Xi eyeing Japan's Senkaku Islands; China unveils air-to-air tanker aircraft

The YY-20 will allow Chinese jets to more easily operate beyond the ‘First Island Chain’. The ‘First Island Chain’ runs through nations such as Japan, Taiwan & Philippines. For around 75 years, China didn't contest Japan’s sovereignty over Senkaku Islands. Beijing altered its stance because of potential oil reserves in the East China Sea. Since 2008, China has repeatedly made incursions into Japanese territorial waters.
