Indian decathlete Tejaswin Shankar expressed satisfaction after returning with a medal, saying he was grateful not to leave empty-handed despite battling an injury scare just days before the competition.
Reflecting on his performance, Tejaswin revealed that a sudden flare-up in his leg nearly ruled him out of the decathlon, and he did not expect to achieve the result he ultimately produced. He credited his comeback to staying focused on the present, taking the competition one event, one session and one step at a time.
