Gary Zerola was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of sexual assault following an incident that authorities say happened November 10 in Boston.

He was held on $10,000 cash bail and ordered to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, observe a curfew, have no contact with the victim and not consume alcohol.

Authorities say Zerola and the victim were acquainted before the incident.

The 45-year-old former Suffolk County prosecutor faced three sexual assault charges between 2006 and 2007, but was never convicted.

Zerola made People Magazine’s list of America’s Top 50 Bachelors in 2001.

His lawyer tells WCVB-TV the case is “based on a foundation of lies.” Zerola’s next court date is January 4.
