Iran has named a new Revolutionary Guards aerospace chief to replace the one killed by Israel.

The Israeli military said that Friday's strikes on Iran killed nine nuclear scientists.

Israel's Ben Gurion international airport is closed until further notice, a spokeswoman said on Saturday. "There is not date or day set to reopen the airport," airport spokeswoman Lisa Diver told news agency AFP.

Iran's top security body, headed by President Masoud Pezeshkian, discussed ways of responding to "any evil deeds by the enemy", reported state media.

As Israel Iran continue to trade fire, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon have reopened their airspace on Saturday.

All three countries neighbor Israel, but only Jordan has formal diplomatic relations with the country.

"Jordan has reopened its airspace starting 7:30 am (0430 GMT)," the chairman of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Haitham Misto, said in a statement.

Lebanon's Transport Minister Fayez Rassamni announced the reopening of the country's airspace from 10:00 am (0700 GMT) Saturday.

In Syria, the aviation authority also announced the reopening of the country's airspace to civilian aircraft.

Israeli defence minister Israel Katz has warned that "Tehran will burn" if it fires more missiles. 

"The Iranian dictator is taking the citizens of Iran hostage, bringing about a reality in which they, and especially Teheran's residents, will pay a heavy price for the flagrant harm inflicted upon Israel's citizens. If Khamenei continues to fire missiles at the Israeli home front, Tehran will burn," Katz said in a statement.

Iran's Mehr news agency has reported a strike near northwestern Tabriz refinery, saying that smoke was seen rising from the area.

Iran has arrested five persons in the central city of Yazd for taking pictures and "collaborating with Israel", reported Iranian news media.

As per reports from the Iranian media, fresh Israeli strikes have taken place in west, northwest region of the country.

After air strikes on Iranian air defences, Israel is saying that it will attack more targets in Tehran.

"The way to Iran has been paved," the military's chief of staff and air force chief were quoted as saying in an army statement.

The military "is proceeding according to its operational plans, and (Israeli air force) fighters jets are set to resume striking targets in Tehran," it added.

Iranian media has reported that two persons were killed in the Israeli strike on missile site in Assadabad in Western Iran.

Iran has warned the US, UK, and France that their bases and ships in the region will be targeted if they help stop Iranian strikes on Israel, reports Iranian state media.

French president Emmanuel Macron said that an international gathering on Palestinian statehood next week at the United Nations with Saudi Arabia was postponed.

While he didn't directly link the postponement to the Israel-Iran strikes, he said that Middle East leaders cannot attend the conference due to logistical and security reasons.

As the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel cause worries, Pope Leo has appealed for "reason" and called for dialogue, efforts at peace.

Iran's IRNA news agency has reported that the country's airspace has been closed "until further notice", as per the announcement made by the Iranian civil authority.

"No flights will be operated at any airports in the country in order to protect the safety of passengers... until further notice," the official news agency said.

Iran on Saturday claimed that 60 people have been killed in a strike on a residential complex in Tehran, The Spectator Index reported.

Jordan on Saturday said it reopened its airspace after a suspension over the Israel-Iran conflict.

Jordan's airspace had seen Iranian drones and missiles cross through it, with Israeli fighter jets likely engaging targets there.

The crossfire between Israel and Iran disrupted East-West travel through the Middle East, a key global aviation route.

Iran has yet to decide whether to join a sixth round of nuclear talks with the United States on Sunday, state media reported, as Israel and Iran traded fire for a second day.

"It is still unclear what decision we will make for Sunday," foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said of the talks in Oman, quoted by the official IRNA news agency on Saturday.

Iran on Saturday confirmed two additional high-ranking generals were killed in Israeli strikes on the country, reported AP.

Israeli strikes were reported in western Iran on Saturday after Iran on Saturday morning launched a fresh missile attack on Israel, particularly targeting its Northern region.

Lebanon authorities said it will open its airspace on Saturday at 10 am (local time), the state news agency NNA said.

Israel Iran live updates: Israel’s paramedic service Magen David Adom says an Iranian missile struck near homes in central Israel early Saturday morning, killing two people and injuring 19 others.

Israel’s Fire and Rescue service said four homes were severely damaged.

Israel Iran live updates: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted by the Israeli Air Force following air raid sirens in the Judea and Dead Sea regions.

The sirens were activated shortly after 8 am local time.

President Donald Trump on Friday urged Iran to quickly reach an agreement on curbing its nuclear program as Israel vowed to continue its bombardment of the country.

Trump framed the volatile moment in the Middle East as a possible "second chance” for Iran's leadership to avoid further destruction "before there is nothing left and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire.”

Following the assassination of top Iranian military leaders in Israel's strike, Iran's Commander-in-Chief, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has announced major appointments to restructure the country's military leadership.

According to Iranian state-run media IRNA, Major General Amir Hatami has been appointed as the Chief Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The airspace over Iran, Iraq and the surrounding areas remains unavailable, causing extended travel durations or delays amid tensions between Israel and Iran, said an advisory from IndiGo on Saturday.
