Ukraine war: Fox News journalist injured outside of Kyiv, hospitalised
Fox News said that its correspondent Benjamin Hall, a Briton, “was injured while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine.”
A Fox News journalist was injured outside of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Monday as the Russian invasion entered day 19. Issuing a statement, Fox News said that its correspondent Benjamin Hall, a Briton, “was injured while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine.”
Hall covers the State Department for the network. Irina Venediktova, Ukraine's prosecutor general, said in a Facebook post that a British journalist had received shrapnel wounds to both legs. However, Venediktova did not identify the journalist.

"We have a minimal level of details right now, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds," the Fox News statement said.
Fox News also added that the safety of its entire team of journalists in war-torn Ukraine and surroundings is the network's “top priority and of the utmost importance.”
"This is a stark reminder for all journalists who are putting their lives on the line every day to deliver the news from a war zone," the statement further said.
The US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Monday that the department stands ready to assist Ben Hall in any way it can.
"I'm heartbroken by reports that my colleague, a State Department correspondent, was injured in Ukraine today. Our thoughts are with him, his family, and all of his colleagues, and we wish him a full recovery. We stand ready to assist in any way we can," Price tweeted.
Meanwhile, the State Department Correspondents' Association said it was horrified to learn about Ben Hall being injured in the Ukraine war.

“We know Ben for his warmth, good humour and utmost professionalism. We wish Ben a quick recovery and call for utmost efforts to protect journalists who are providing an invaluable service through their coverage in Ukraine,” the association said.
The news of Ben Hall comes a day after American documentary maker Brent Renaud was shot dead in Kyiv's Irpin, which has seen some of the fiercest fighting since the Russian invasion on February 24. Renaud was employed with Time Studios and was working on a project about global refugee issues.
