US-Iran news: Kuwait said it intercepted two ballistic missiles and 14 drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace. It added that no injuries or material damage was reported.

“Ministry of Defense, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, stated that the Armed Forces detected, at dawn today, two (2) hostile ballistic missiles and thirteen (13) hostile drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace. These were successfully intercepted and dealt with, resulting in no material damage or human injuries,” Kuwait army said in a post on X.

“The Armed Forces affirm their continued commitment to performing their missions and duties with efficiency and capability, within the framework of ongoing readiness and permanent preparedness, thereby enhancing the security of the homeland and preserving the safety of citizens and residents.”

US-Iran news: Market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 fell on Wednesday after Trump announces that the ceasefire deal with Iran is “over.”

The BSE Sensex touched a low of 76,472.78, down more than 1,700 points, or 2 per cent, while the Nifty 50 made a low of 23,877.50, down more than 500 points, or 2 per cent.

US-Iran news: Oil prices jumped more than 5% on Wednesday, hitting a two-week high after U.S. President Donald Trump said the memorandum of understanding to end the conflict with Iran was "over", renewing fears of disruptions to Middle East oil supplies.

Brent crude futures gained $3.82, or 5.15%, hitting $77.98 a barrel at 0832 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed $3.70, or 5.25%, to $74.14 a barrel. The benchmarks are at their highest levels since June 23.

Both rose about 3% on Tuesday after the U.S. revoked the general licence authorising the sale of Iranian crude.

US-Iran news: The new attacks by Iran and the United States in the Middle East have complicated talks to end the war, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Wednesday.

"The exchanges of fire between the U.S. and Iran further complicate already fraught talks to end the war. Iran's attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait are unacceptable," Kallas said in a post on X.

“Next Monday, EU Foreign Ministers will meet with their Gulf counterparts to discuss how we can work together to support the implementation of the agreement and preserve freedom of navigation in the Strait as well as the Red Sea.”

US-Iran news: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday slammed the US government condust as FIFA World Cup host, saying it follows its familiar foreign policy.

“The U.S. government's conduct as World Cup host follows its familiar foreign policy: bending rules, bullying rivals, creating obstacles, and cheating. This is their MAGA playbook. Iran rejects such games. We stand firmly for our rights,” he wrote in a post on X.
