US attacks Iran: In a fresh series of attacks, US Central Command said it hit over 80 targets as an immediate response to Iran's latest attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military added that it struck Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats in and near the strait.
US revokes Iran oil sanctions waiver: The Donald Trump administration on Tuesday revoked, with immediate effect, an oil sanctions waiver that allowed the purchase of Iranian energy without attracting US sanctions.
The development comes only weeks after Washington and Tehran announced an MoU to halt hostilities following their months-long conflict.
Blasts heard in Iran: Blasts were heard in Iran's main oil hub on Kharg Island, on Qeshm Island, and in the southern port cities of Sirik and Bandar Abbas, Reuters reported.
Iran targets US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain: Iran on Wednesday accepted responsibility for attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain after it vowed a “crushing” response to US attacks. IRGC said it struck 85 US military sites across Bahrain and Kuwait, including Ali Al-Salem Airbase in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet naval base in Salman Port, Bahrain, Bloomberg reported citing a statement carried by Iran’s state television. Iran warned of more attacks if the US repeats strikes on Tehran, Reuters reported.
Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks, its military said on X, urging the public to follow safety instructions.
In Bahrain, sirens were sounded, its interior ministry said, urging citizens to “remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.”
Qatar condemns Iranian attack on its vessel: Qatar strongly condemned Iran's attack on its vessel "Al-Rekayyat" while it was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night. The country called the incident an "unacceptable attack" on international maritime navigation and global energy security.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Majed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and official spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, "The targeting of the Qatari vessel 'Al-Rekayyat' while transiting near the Strait of Hormuz constitutes an unacceptable attack on the security and safety of international maritime navigation, the security of global energy supplies, and a grave and explicit violation of international law, particularly the rules guaranteeing freedom of navigation & safe passage through international waterways."
NATO says strikes on Iran ‘necessary’: Amid ongoing NATO meeting, where US President Donald Trump is also present, Secretary General Mark Rutte said the latest attacks on Iran were "absolutely necessary," expressing support for the strikes amid escalating tensions in the region.

US-Iran news: Kuwait said it intercepted two ballistic missiles and 14 drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace. It added that no injuries or material damage was reported.
“Ministry of Defense, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, stated that the Armed Forces detected, at dawn today, two (2) hostile ballistic missiles and thirteen (13) hostile drones that breached Kuwaiti airspace. These were successfully intercepted and dealt with, resulting in no material damage or human injuries,” Kuwait army said in a post on X.
“The Armed Forces affirm their continued commitment to performing their missions and duties with efficiency and capability, within the framework of ongoing readiness and permanent preparedness, thereby enhancing the security of the homeland and preserving the safety of citizens and residents.”

US-Iran news: Oil prices jumped more than 5% on Wednesday, hitting a two-week high after U.S. President Donald Trump said the memorandum of understanding to end the conflict with Iran was "over", renewing fears of disruptions to Middle East oil supplies.
Brent crude futures gained $3.82, or 5.15%, hitting $77.98 a barrel at 0832 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed $3.70, or 5.25%, to $74.14 a barrel. The benchmarks are at their highest levels since June 23.
Both rose about 3% on Tuesday after the U.S. revoked the general licence authorising the sale of Iranian crude.
