Five abducted foreign nationals from Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya were recovered Tuesday during a raid in Pakistan's troubled Baluchistan province, police said.
"They were recovered during a raid in Overseas colony and they were chained inside a house," district police officer Bashir Brohi said.
Brohi said the raid was conducted in Kech district after receiving an intelligence report.
Background of the recovered persons - who belonged to Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya - was being verified.
Brohi stated that two foreign nationals were abducted in 2012, two in 2013 and one was kidnapped in 2014, most probably from Pakistan's largest city Karachi.
District Kech is considered to be one of the sensitive districts of Baluchistan as separatists and insurgents have been operating in the area for more than a decade.
