6.6-magnitude quake reported off Arctic island
Geological monitoring services are reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 has struck off Jan Mayen island in Arctic waters between Greenland and Norway.

Geological monitoring services are reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 has struck off Jan Mayen island in Arctic waters between Greenland and Norway.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre and the US Geological Survey say the quake struck on Thursday at 1343 GMT. The USGC says the epicenter was 58 miles (93 kilometers) northwest of Jan Mayen, a Norwegian island with a research station.
Erik Persheim, an electronics engineer on the island, told AP that the quake could be felt on the island, but no one was injured.
