No one was hurt in the attack that took place around 10.30 am in the provincial capital of Maidan Shar, some 35 km west of Kabul, Mohammad Najib Nikzad, an official with the press department of the Afghan interior ministry, said.
Interior Minister Basmillah Mohammadi was also present.
The rocket landed about 100 metres away from the site where a function was being held to inaugurate a police training centre in Dasht-e-Top area. NATO and government officials were also present.
