Some 25-30 people from little-known Nepal National Front gathered on Monday in front of the main gate of embassy at Lainchaur area in the city and chanted anti-India slogans even as a Republic Day function was going on inside the premises.

They accused India of "occupying" some Nepalese territory. The protestors claimed they handed over a memorandum to the embassy.

However, the protest did not affect the Republic Day function.

Some two dozen riot policemen were deployed near the gate of the embassy but they did not intervene.
