Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon left Israel on Monday on a landmark four-day visit to India where he will hold talks with political and business leaders.

Sharon, who was heading a 150-member delegation including top Israeli arms dealers, flew out at 0630 GMT, according to an AFP correspondent travelling with the party.
It will be the first visit of an Israeli leader to India since the two countries established full diplomatic relations in 1992.
