B'desh dismisses ULFA chief's arrest reports

Bangladesh today denied reports of arrest of ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa from its territory, with Home Minister Sahara Khatun calling it baseless.

"Several Bangladeshi and foreign media organisations are disseminating a report that Arabinda Rajkhowa was arrested in Dhaka. This is not true," she told newsmen when approached for comments on the issue.

Asked further about the reported "push back" of the separatist leader, Khatun said "since we did not even arrest him, how come the question of pushing him back arises."
