At least 11 people were killed and 20 others were wounded after a tour bus slid off a cliff at Song Kwae District in Thailand's northern Nan Province.

The tragic incident occurred when the tour bus was carrying teachers from Mae Sai District in Thailand's northern Chiang Rai Province to Nan. The bus then plunged into the over-100-metre-deep Doi Ji Cliff. Rescue operations have been continuing with difficulties.

The victims were reportedly teachers from Baan Rai Khao Thep Kanchana Upatham School who were on a farewell trip with a group of their colleagues who had transferred to work in Nan.
