The President spoke to Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi today to continue his consultations with European leaders on the situation in Georgia," White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said in a statement.

"The leaders discussed the importance of supporting Georgia's territorial integrity, and the need for Russia to comply with all elements of the ceasefire agreement and withdraw its troops from Georgia in accordance with that agreement."

On Monday European Union leaders are expeted to boost support for Georgia at a summit while warning Russia that relations are at a crossroads.
