Slumdog Millionaire couple Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto played hide and seek with photographers in New York after a dinner date to avoid getting photographed together.

The young stars who shot to global fame with the multiple-Oscar-winning potboiler were walking out of a restaurant after dinner when they spotted the waiting paparazzi and Patel immediately ran for cover, reported Daily Mail online.

However, the actor soon saw the funny side and started laughing as he dashed away.

Pinto too looked amused with her boyfriend's comic antics and laughed as she saw Patel running away from the photographers.

The Mumbai native looked glamourous in a butterfly t-shirt dress and oversized sunglasses while Patel looked more casual in a striped shirt and jeans.
